The Apple Maggot Flies are here!
Lots of fruit on the trees. Some could use thinning.. A sign was posted to encourage people to pick up the fallen apples.
The star performer of the work party was a five year old, but we learned a lot from chatting with Don about the various pest management measures, like the traps he put up, but also things we could do in future.

seems a bit daunting to improve the quality of fruit in the orchard, but very possible if we perservere in involving more people and learning more as we go.

This work party of seven or so was all about the weeding and mulching with wood chips, with a little bit of trap examining / critter observing.
